2011 BTCC Event at Silverstone is finally here!

For those who are huge BTCC fans the wait is finally over – they have arrived at Silverstone! This weekend is set to be one to remember because of the history between the BTCC and Silverstone. Previous years have given us epic battles that have seen cars rubbing paint, huge crashes and unbelievable race victories.

With a new track layout that will aid overtaking in a motorsport genre that is already known for its high level of passing, the racing this weekend is something to look forward to. Improvements to the track have allowed for a higher average speed and closer racing through exciting parts of the circuit.

Jason Plato leads the title race in the British Touring Car Championship and will be out to try and extend his lead this weekend. With a strong field of cars and drivers this year has shown us what developments have been made to the sport and its machines. Close racing is associated with the BTCC and this weekend will be the highlight of the season for many of the drivers.

If you want to see the racing this weekend then head along to Silverstone where you can still purchase tickets. If you would like to stay near the circuit please use the hotel availability tool on the right of the website. This weekend could have unpredictable weather so we don’t recommend camping.
